Next Meeting/Space Derby

Due to the Christmas holidays, Cubpack 48 will not meet the next two Mondays 12/22 and 12/29. Tenatively, we will plan on meeting 1/5/09 at the usual place and time (Presbyterian Church, 7pm). We plan to pass out kits for the Space Derby at that meeting, but if we cannot obtain enough kits by that time, the meeting may be cancelled. If so, I will notify parents by e-mail and blog posting. We plan to hold the Space Derby 1/26 - details later.

Christmas Party/ Magic Show

The annual Cub Scout Christmas party and magic show is scheduled for 12/15 at 7:00 at the Presbyterian church. Once again Pete Waltersheid will entertain the Cubs. Treats and a gift exchange will follow.

Christmas Parade

The float is ready and Packs 5 and 48 will ride/walk together in the Coffeyville Christmas Parade on Friday 12/5. Cubs should meet at the Presbyterian church at 5:45-6:00. We will then walk as a group to our assigned starting position. Please dress in uniform if you have one, and remember to dress for cold weather (coats, hats and gloves recommended). Bringing a flashlight is also a good idea.

Popcorn Orders/Money

Jack will be available at the Presbyterian church after the Christmas parade on Friday 12/5 to collect any last-minute popcorn orders and to collect money for popcorn already sold.

Recycling Field Trip 11/17

Cub Scout Pack 48 will meet at the Presbyterian church early at 6:30 on 11/17 instead of the usual 7:00 time. We will carpool to Walmart, where we will take a tour and observe Walmart's efforts to recycle waste and help preserve our environment. We will then carpool back to the church for dismissal and child pick-up.

RC Airplanes

Any cub wanting to try piloting a radio-controlled airplane is invited to test their skills this Saturday November 8th. We will meet at the Model Airplane Club flight range on West Walnut (near the sewage plant - signs will point the way) at 11:00. Club President David Liming will have a trainer aircraft available. Event will be cancelled for inclement weather or high winds that do not allow for safe flying. For any questions, call David at 251-5747.
